Zunächst muss man sich ein .zip-Datei herunterladen und diese in update.zip umbenennen. Anschließend kopiert man die umbenannte Datei in das Rootverzeichnis der SD-Speicherkarte d.h. auf die oberste Ordnerebene. Nun muss man das Telefon ausschalten und mit gedrückter Kamerataste wieder einschalten. Dabei muss man auch die Einschalttaste gedrückt halten und zwar bis auf dem Bildschirm "/!\" erscheint. Nun muss man die Lautstärkentaste zusammen mit der Kamerataste drücken und gedrückt halten bis der Recovery-Screen zu sehen ist. Nun update.zip auswählen und das Motorola Milestone flashen. Das Milestone ist nun gerootet und man kann endlich Custom-ROMs installieren. Viel Spaß beim Ausprobieren!
