Übersicht - Milestone Root

Als Besitzer eines Motorola Milestone hat man es nicht leicht. Während die meisten anderen Hersteller (Samsung und HTC) schon Android 2.3 als Update bereitstellen, muss man sich als Motorola Kunde mit veralterter Software abgeben. Und man hat noch nicht mal die Chance das mobile Betriebssystem Android selbst zu aktualisieren, denn Motorola hat den Bootloader des Milestone für "Experimente" gesperrt. Insgesamt ist das wirklich sehr ärgerlich, doch endlich ist es findigen Hackern gelungen einen Fehler in der Android 2.0 Version zu nutzen, um das Motorola Milestone zu rooten. So wird es möglich Custom ROMs oder sogenannte Root-Apps d.h. Anwendungen die einen Rootzugriff (Tethering Apps etc.) benötigen zu installieren. Ermöglicht wurde der Rootzugriff durch die Androidhacker Natron, SeraphimSerapis und nodch. Danke!

Folgendes gilt es jedoch unbedingt zu beachten: Mit dem Rooten des Motorola Milestones verliert man den Anspruch auf Garantie. Zudem tritt ein Fehler auf, den man getrost ignorieren kann: "Update Binary kann nicht geflasht werden" - völlig egal, denn root funktioniert!
