Schritt 1 / 4 - Metall grundieren

Bei rostigem Stahl oder Eisen muss zunächst der Rost entfernt werden. Dies geht am besten mit Hilfe einer Drahtbürste und Schleifleinen. Achtet darauf, den entstandenen Staub zum Schluß gut abzuwischen. Wichtig ist, dass jegliche Roststellen gründlich abgetragen werden, weil zurückgebliebener Rost sich sofort wieder durch die Lackschicht frisst. Das von Rost befreite Metall muss dann meist verspachtelt werden, um die durch Rost entstanden Löcher zu schließen. Und erst dann kann man die Metallfläche grundieren. Bei neuen Metallflächen ist es notwendig zunächst die vorhandene Fettschicht zu entfernen (mit Verdünnung). Dann schließlich kann man das Metall mit einer korrosionsschützenden Grundierung (Antirostgrund) versehen. Dies trägt man mit dem Pinsel auf. Dabei sollte man darauf achten, dass die Grundierung flächendeckend und auch in jeder kleine Ritze/Lücke aufgetragen wird. Arbeitet man nun nicht genau, wird man nachher wieder Rost an diesen Stellen feststellen.
